The University of Moratuwa held its flagship technological exhibition, EXMO 2023, on July 27-29, 2023. The UNESCO Madanjeet Singh Centre for South Asia Water Management (UMCSAWM) in collaboration with the Hydraulic and Water Resources Engineering division of the Department of Civil Engineering organized various activities at the event, including an art competition, a quiz competition, and an outdoor model irrigation facility.
The art competition “Saving Water for the Future” and the quiz competition “Know Your Water” were specifically designed to enhance water awareness among school children, with participants categorized into two age groups. The outdoor model irrigation facility provided visitors with a hands-on opportunity to learn about irrigation systems and how they work.The activities at EXMO 2023 highlighted the importance of water resources and hydraulic engineering in Sri Lanka and the world. The event also provided a platform for students and researchers to showcase their innovative work in these fields.
