Welcome to ICEWSE 2026

Building on the foundation and momentum of our inaugural event, the International Conference on Energy and Water for Sustainable Environment (ICEWSE 2026) returns this coming October for its highly anticipated second edition. As global ecosystems face unprecedented pressures, the need for integrated, innovative solutions has never been more urgent. ICEWSE 2026 serves as a premier multidisciplinary platform, purposefully designed to bridge the gap between groundbreaking academic research and real-world industrial application. This upcoming conference will gather an elite international cohort of researchers, academics, industry professionals, policymakers, and postgraduate students, creating a vibrant ecosystem for knowledge exchange and collaborative problem-solving.

This year, the conference expands its vision to address the interlocking challenges of energy security, water scarcity, and environmental degradation. Attendees can look forward to a robust program featuring visionary keynote addresses, rigorous technical sessions, interactive panel discussions, and valuable networking opportunities designed to spark lifelong professional partnerships. By bringing together diverse perspectives from across the globe, ICEWSE 2026 aims to catalyze the transition from theoretical research to actionable, scalable blueprints that protect our planet’s vital resources.

Honoring Our Roots, Building the Future

ICEWSE was born out of a powerful cross-border academic synergy, originally launched through a successful collaboration between the UNESCO Madanjeet Singh Centre for South Asia Water Management (UMCSAWM) at the University of Moratuwa and Pondicherry University. Reflecting on the achievements of our past session, we carry forward a legacy of academic excellence and regional cooperation. As we look ahead to October, ICEWSE 2026 seeks to elevate this standard even further, expanding our network of global partners and deepening the impact of the research presented.

Our Host and Mission

The conference is proudly hosted by the UNESCO Madanjeet Singh Centre for South Asia Water Management (UMCSAWM), situated within the prestigious Faculty of Engineering at the University of Moratuwa. UMCSAWM stands as a beacon of research excellence in South Asia, dedicated to nurturing holistic water management strategies and fostering regional harmony through education. By anchoring ICEWSE 2026 at the University of Moratuwa, we leverage top-tier engineering expertise and state-of-the-art academic infrastructure to drive international collaboration, promoting practical, sustainable engineering solutions that will actively shape a resilient future for generations to come.

Core Conference Pillars

To guide our discussions and presentations this October, the conference framework centers on three interconnected domains:

Energy Sustainability: Exploring renewable energy integration, smart grids, energy efficiency, and clean technologies designed to reduce global carbon footprints.

Water Resources Management: Addressing advanced wastewater treatment, hydrological modeling, water scarcity solutions, and the preservation of vital aquatic ecosystems.

Environmental Resilience: Evaluating climate change adaptation strategies, sustainable waste management, environmental policy, and eco-friendly engineering paradigms.
