Mr Zarif Apu, a Research scholar from Bangladesh, participated in the International Mother Language Day event held on February 21st, 2024, at Independence Square in Colombo. The event, a collaboration between the Bangladesh High Commission in Colombo, the Sri Lankan Ministry of Education, and the United Nations celebrated the importance of mother languages and cultural diversity.
The ceremony boasted distinguished guests, including Sri Lankan Education Minister Hon. Dr. Susil Premajayantha and His Excellency Tareq Md Ariful Islam, the Bangladeshi Ambassador. Mr. Apu’s presence alongside these dignitaries underscores the significance of fostering international understanding and promoting the value of mother languages across borders.
