We were honoured to welcome Ms. Joyce Poan, Programme Specialist and Chief of Section – Education and Mr. Abhinav Kumar, UNESCO Education Programme Coordinator, from the UNESCO New Delhi Regional Office, to the UNESCO Madanjeet Singh Centre for South Asia Water Management (UMCSAWM) at the University of Moratuwa on 21st March 2025.

As part of her mission to explore institutions advancing Greening Education in Sri Lanka, Ms. Poan engaged with our academic team and students, recognizing UMCSAWM and the UNESCO Chair on Sustainable Water Resources Management in South Asia as key players in the region. The visit featured short student presentations on ongoing water-related research and a fruitful exchange of ideas on sustainability and education.
